Who we are
This website, foundersgamereserve.com, is operated for Founders Lodge by Mantis, a safari lodge at Founders Reserve, Sidbury, Eastern Cape, South Africa. For the purposes of the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA), the responsible party is Founders Lodge by Mantis, contactable at reservations@mantiscollection.com or +27 41 404 9300.
What personal information we collect
Information you give us. When you submit an enquiry or contact form we collect the details you provide: name, email address, phone number, country of residence, preferred travel dates, party composition (including whether children are travelling), the occasion of your stay, and anything you write in your message.
Information collected automatically. With your consent (via our cookie banner), our analytics tools collect device and usage information: pages visited, approximate location (city or country level), device and browser type, and how you found us. We do not collect precise location, and we do not use this information to identify you personally.
Bookings. Room reservations are completed on Accor’s platform (all.accor.com). Payment details are collected and processed by Accor under Accor’s own privacy policy — this website does not collect or store payment card information.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use CookieYes to ask for your consent before non-essential cookies load. Categories in use: Necessary (the consent record itself and caching/performance cookies that make the site work and load quickly); Analytics (Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity, used in aggregate to understand how visitors use the site); Advertising (a Microsoft advertising tag, used to measure search advertising where campaigns run); and Embedded media (the live waterhole cam loads from privacy-enhanced youtube-nocookie.com only after you click play). You can change or withdraw consent at any time via the cookie settings icon on the site.
Why we process your information
We process personal information to respond to your enquiries and prepare quotes (steps you request prior to a contract); for analytics and advertising measurement (with your consent); to operate and secure the website (legitimate interest); and for communications you opt into (consent).
Who we share information with
Mantis Collection central reservations, to answer enquiries and manage bookings; Accor S.A., when you book — Accor acts under its own privacy policy and data may be processed outside South Africa, including in France; and our website hosting and maintenance providers, under confidentiality obligations. We do not sell personal information.
Retention
Enquiry records are kept for up to 24 months after our last contact with you, then deleted, unless a booking relationship exists. Analytics data is retained per our Google Analytics settings (14 months).
Your rights under POPIA
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information; object to processing; and lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa) — inforegulator.org.za, complaints.IR@inforegulator.org.za. To exercise any right, email reservations@mantiscollection.com with “Privacy request” in the subject line. We respond within 30 days.
Children
Our enquiry forms ask only whether children will travel in your party, provided by the adult making the enquiry. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children.
Security
Personal information is protected by appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit and access controls on the website’s administrative systems.
Changes to this policy
We will post any changes on this page with an updated date, and flag material changes on the site.
