Getting Here

What to expect at Founders Lodge

Founders is intimate by design, a restored 1940s manor house with only a handful of suites, several overlooking the Founders watering hole, plus a private Honeymoon Pod and the separately bookable Founders Railway Carriage for exclusive use.

Arrival and the practical details

  • Check-in from 14:00; check-out by 11:00
  • Children are welcome from age 4
  • All suites are non-smoking; no pets
  • Road transfers from Gqeberha (about 73 km, ~1h 15m) can be arranged at additional cost; self-drive from the N2 is also possible

Your days on safari

Expect twice-daily guided game drives in search of the Big Five, plus the experiences that set Founders apart: rhino monitoring, the sunken photographic hide, guided nature walks, and the accredited Bear Grylls Survival Academy for younger guests. Between drives, dining and downtime are unhurried.
